Aupuni Iwi'ula recipient of the Dr. Barbara Ann Teer Spirit Award

December 17, 2008, Harlem, New York City

The National Black Theatre presented Aupuni Iwi’ula with the inaugural Barbara Ann Teer Spirit Award at its Annual December 17th Orisha Celebration. The award honored Aupuni for establishing the Harlem Halau and for sharing the spiritual traditions of Hawaii with the Harlem community.

The awards dinner commemorated the National Black Theatre for its four decades as a leading cultural institution in Harlem and paid tribute to its enduring commitment to honor, tradition and service. Harlem Halau student, Sherry Bronfman (standing right of Aupuni), received the inaugural Frederica Lila Teer Award for her philanthropic and community service efforts.

All Lomi Kino classes: $3200 for the series.  Halau O Limaloa and the Limaloa Institute are educational teaching facilities therefore the prices are viewed as tuition. Whether you miss a class or not the fee is $120. If you miss more than two classes it is regarded as dropping the class. Day/Night of Healing presentations: $20

Ho’onana o Hawai’i 2011 - Thursday, August 25 to Thursday September 1, 2011. Price: $2500, if received by the KALAMA Foundation after the start of the trip on each island. If the KALAMA Foundation is in receipt before the trip begins the tuition is $2200. Last updated June 2011.

Lauhala Hawai’i 2011 - Check back for exact dates. Price The tuition for the LAUHALA Trip is incorporated in the Hawai’i Island part of the HO’ONANA Trip. If a student wants to attend just that portion of the trip then there is a professional fee of $300 added to the HO’ONANA Trip for a total of $2800 if paid after beginning the trip or $2500 if tuition is received by the KALAMA Foundation before the beginning of the LAUHALA Trip.
